A primeira delas deve ser o retorno do meia Willian ao time titular. Uma das contratações mais badaladas do Timão nos últimos tempos, o camisa 10 é o único do ‘quinteto fantástico’ que ainda não teve um bom momento desde o retorno ao Parque São Jorge. Nesta temporada, Willian foi titular apenas na estreia, contra a Ferroviária, até aqui. Depois ficou fora dos duelos contra o Santo André e Santos para fazer um trabalho de controle de carga. Ainda que se colocasse à disposição para esses compromissos, o camisa 10 foi preservado por decisão da comissão técnica e o núcleo médico corintiano, com participação do Centro de Inteligência e Futebol (Cifut). Ao retornar, atuou 30 minutos contra o Ituano e 35 diante do Mirassol, nos dois últimos compromissos do Corinthians.

Outra novidade, que também pode ser considerada surpresa, pode ser a presença do meia Roni entre os titulares. Fernando Lázaro tem revesado as presenças de Cantillo e Du Queiroz como primeiros atletas do meio-campo, e até agora nenhum entre os dois agradaram. A presença de Roni pode dar uma sustentação a marcação central, ainda que o camisa 29 não tenha a pegada defensiva como principal característica.

Caso se confirme a escalação como titular do Roni, a prata da casa voltará aos 11 iniciais depois de cinco meses. O jogador começou uma partida pelo última vez no dia 12 de setembro do ano passado, em um empate em 1 a 1 entre Atlético-GO e Corinthians, em Goiânia, pela primeira rodada do segundo turno do último Brasileirão. According to Caught Offside, Wataru Endo now wants out of Liverpool after struggling to break into Slot’s side so far this season. The Japan international has reportedly attracted the interest of Celtic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Fulham with Liverpool valuing their midfielder at just €15-18 (£12-15m) in 2025.

Endo has fallen victim to the emergence of Ryan Gravenberch, who has a strong argument to be Liverpool’s Player of the Season so far and looks to have done enough to show his competition the door.

"Exceptional" Endo must be replaced

If this is to be it for Endo at Anfield then Liverpool must replace their midfielder when next summer arrives. The Japan international may not take the spotlight very often, if at all, but he adds crucial depth. Without him, Liverpool are arguably one injury to Gravenberch away from forcing Alexis Mac Allister out of position once again and losing the attacking element that he adds in his preferred role.

To his credit, Endo has outperformed the expectations placed on his shoulders since arriving at Liverpool last season as Jurgen Klopp struggled to find a solution to his midfield problem.

O Corinthians pagará cerca de R$ 2,5 milhões por toda comissão técnica. Além de Vitor, outros quatro profissionais integrarão a equipe do treinador, esses ainda não tiveram os nomes divulgados. Sabendo que o valor excede o orçamento previsto pelo Corinthians para um trainador nesta temporada, a diretoria do clube conversa com o Grupo Taunsa, parceira desde o início desse ano, para arcar com parte dos vencimentos.

O que gerou certa surpresa foi o tempo de contrato. Se previa um acordo até dezembro de 2023, quando se encerra a atual administração do clube alvinegro, presidido pelo atual presidente Duílio Monteiro Alves. No entanto, o contrato foi firmado até o fim desta temporada.

O intuito deste acordo foi para em caso de demissão antes do fim do contrato o Timão não ter um alto prejuízo, já que em situações de desligamento a equipe do Parque São Jorge teria que pagar os salários integrais até o fim do vínculo, sendo ele até 2022 as pendências seriam menores.

Por outro lado, o Corinthians aposta no bom relacionamento que criou com o estafe de Vitor Pereira para negociar o contrato para a próxima temporada sem grandes aumentos, caso esses noves meses do treinador no Parque São Jorge seja um sucesso.

New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will be hoping to hit the ground running in his first game in charge against Ipswich Town this Sunday.

The 39-year-old has been tasked with saving the sinking ship overseen by Erik ten Hag, with the Dutchman unable to get the best out of a talented crop of players at Old Trafford.

Amorim will want to implement his own playstyle and philosophy on the squad, undoubtedly taking time to get across, but hopefully, a system that could lead to long-term success – something which the fanbase has desperately been desiring.

The former Portugal international has already been seen trialling his preferred 3-4-3 system in his first few training sessions as manager, hoping to have a similar success in the Premier League as he did during his time at Sporting CP.

He claimed the league title in two of his four years in charge, playing various players in unfamiliar roles but transforming them in the process – a huge factor behind his success.

Numerous players may have to do the same thing in Manchester over the coming months, either trying to recapture their form or kickstart their flailing United career.

Man United players who could benefit from Amorim’s arrival

It’s no secret that striker Viktor Gyokeres has been a huge hit under Amorim during his time in Portugal, notching a total of 66 goals in his 68 appearances for the Liga Portugal outfit.

However, goalscoring has been something which has troubled United over the last few months, only registering 12 goals in their opening 11 league outings so far this campaign.

The new boss could repeat his success with striker Rasmus Hojlund in the coming months, with the Dane’s frame and pace similar to that of the Swede who has caught the eye in Europe over the last couple of campaigns.

Amad Diallo is another player who has ultimately failed to reach the heights many expected him to after his £37m move from Italian side Atalanta back in January 2021, scoring just six goals for the club.

However, it’s likely that the Ivorian will be utilised in one of the two roles just behind the centre forward, giving him frequent opportunities to cause chaos in the final third.

During his temporary stint with Sunderland during the 2022/23 season, he was handed a free role, registering 14 goals in the process – something which Amorim may look to replicate during his tenure at Old Trafford.

Whilst those two aforementioned players have the tools to succeed under the 39-year-old’s guidance, numerous others may not be part of the plans of the new boss.

On the other hand, there are a couple of positions that are in desperate need of investment, with Amorim already targeting one player to help bolster his options.

United still targeting move for £180k-p/w talent

According to German journalist Christopher Michel, Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies remains on United’s shortlist ahead of the upcoming window or even the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who is out of contract in June 2025, could agree to a pre-contract deal should he fail to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga side, or even become a free agent at the end of the season.

Davies, who currently earns £180k-per-week as per Capology, would provide the upgrade needed in the wing-back area, especially considering the injury records of both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

The Canadian international has made nine league appearances so far this campaign, registering just one assist – but it’s his underlying figures that would make him the perfect option on the left-hand side within Amorim’s three-back system.

He’s completed 5.8 progressive passes and two successful take-ons per 90 so far this campaign, showcasing he has all the tools to have an impact in attacking areas from his wing-back role.

Davies has also averaged 1.8 tackles and 1.2 clearances – demonstrating his ability to also be solid defensively – leading to teammate Thomas Müller previously dubbing the talent as “world-class”.

Whilst it remains to be seen if they can agree a deal for him in January or wait until his contract expires, it’s clear that Davies would be a phenomenal addition – fitting perfectly into Amorim’s system with his high energy and impact at both ends of the pitch.

He would also solve a huge issue for the club at left-back, having the potential to star in such a role for many years to come.

Conquistar mais uma taça é um sentimento de muita alegria e de ver cumprido. É essa a conta que o Palmeiras faz para se garantir na próxima fase do Paulistão. Com três vitórias nesses duelos, a equipe de Abel Ferreira não só terá a vaga, mas também a liderança.

É claro que conquistar esses pontos é importante, pois é isso que levará o time para as quartas de final para seguir brigando por mais um título, mas todos sabem que os clássicos são pequenas “finais” dentro de um campeonato. Uma derrota pode significar muito mais do que não ganhar os três pontos.

Whilst Howe’s side secured impressive victories over Arsenal and Nottingham Forest before the international break, they’ve since suffered defeat at the hands of struggling West Ham United and were forced to settle for a point against relegation contenders Crystal Palace. With Premier League leaders Liverpool up next too, those at St James’ Park could be in for another difficult evening.

With the January transfer window just around the corner, Newcastle could be one of the most interesting clubs to watch, given how they failed to complete their recruitment during the summer.

Deals for players such as Marc Guehi never quite got over the line and amid their recent defensive struggles, it would come as little shock if the Magpies went again in pursuit of the defender, whose own goal to give Newcastle the lead this weekend was full of irony.

There could also be movement on the exit front, meanwhile. According to Wayne Veysey of Football Insider, PIF and Newcastle are now willing to accept offers to sell Kieran Trippier in the January transfer window just months since Howe reportedly blocked the right-back from leaving St James’ Park.

Now 34 years old and behind in the pecking order to the impressive Tino Livramento, a January exit could suit all parties. But Newcastle should act with caution, given just how fragile the depth of their squad has been throughout the current campaign. The last thing Howe needs is to be scrambling for internal solutions that have already headed for the exit door.

Newcastle must still replace "strong" Trippier

Although it’s far from in doubt that Trippier, on £120,000-a-week, is now past his best and is now a backup and backup only to Livramento at St James’ Park, Newcastle must still ensure that they replace the right-back if he completes a move away in the January transfer window.
