Moises Caicedo salary: How much does Chelsea star earn per week and annually in Premier League?

Everything you need to know about Moises Caicedo's salary at Chelsea

Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo made his Premier League debut with Brighton & Hove Albion in 2021. He was initially loaned out to Belgian side Beerschot for the season, but Brighton recalled him in January due to a shortage of midfielders.

Caicedo broke into the starting lineup during the 2022-23 season, delivering consistent performances under then-manager Roberto De Zerbi. He played a key role in helping Brighton secure a sixth-place finish and qualification for European competition.

It wasn’t long before Chelsea came knocking, offering a staggering transfer fee to secure his services.

Caicedo joined the Blues ahead of the 2023-24 season on an eight-year contract, which came with a substantial pay package.

GOAL delved into the numbers with Capology and found out exactly how much he earns at Stamford Bridge!

Tottenham ready to move for "elite" Postecoglou replacement after Chelsea loss

Tottenham registered their 16th Premier League defeat of the campaign away to Chelsea on Thursday, bringing Postecoglou’s future into even more disrepute, with Fabrizio Romano claiming it is Europa League or bust for the Australian.

GiveMeSport sources have since reported that, in the aftermath of their London derby loss, Postecoglou might not even get that long. Amidst the consistent noise regarding his long-term future, the 59-year-old has adopted a relaxed mindset, suggesting there will be many outstanding candidates to replace him.

“I know what my responsibilities are. I’m sure if the club decide to go in a different direction, there are some outstanding candidates out there for it,” said Postecoglou on his potential replacement.

“It doesn’t rock my world, it doesn’t consume me. I am here and passionate about what we are doing. I was brought in to change the way the club plays, rejuvenate the squad and bring success. I am focused on that and that’s what I’ll keep doing.”

Postecoglou also commented on a potential return one day for ex-Spurs fan favourite Mauricio Pochettino, now manager of the USA ahead of the 2026 World Cup, where the States will play joint-hosts of their most important tournament since the 1990s.

MauricioPochettinocoach of U.S. during the match

“If he wants to come back one day then I hope it happens for him,” Postecoglou said when asked about Pochettino.

This follows comments made by the Argentine that he’d one day like to make a return to Tottenham, following five impressive years in N17 where he also guided them to an unprecedented Champions League final.

Stan Collymore urges Mauricio Pochettino not to re-join Tottenham

Now, writing in his column, pundit Collymore has urged Pochettino not to re-join Tottenham, following alleged talks with chairman Levy.

“There has been rumours of Mauricio Pochettino possibly making a return to Tottenham, having seemingly held talks with Daniel Levy,” wrote Collymore for CaughtOffside.

“But if I was him, I would not go anywhere near his former club, as I think very little has changed from when he left in 2019. I was at the Champions League final that year when Liverpool defeated them, and I remember very clearly how frustrated he was with the club after that. If he came back, he [wouldn’t] be given the tools to do the job that he wanted, so it would make little sense for him to be willing to go back there.”

Since being sacked by Levy in 2019, Pochettino has gone on to manage Chelsea and win a Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain. He’d be a fantastic appointment considering his proven track record and experience at Tottenham, but supporters would most likely have to wait a while for any reunion.

De Villiers says Suryakumar needs 'mindset switch' to replicate T20 form in ODIs

AB de Villiers feels that India batter Suryakumar Yadav, the world’s No. 1 T20I batter, needs a slight tweak in his mindset in order to replicate his success in the 50-over format.Suryakumar, who has managed to hold onto his spot in India’s squad for the upcoming World Cup, averages only 24.33 in ODIs, with only two half-centuries in 24 innings with a strike-rate of 101.38. Suryakumar himself has referred to these numbers as “really bad”.Related

“You guys know I’m a big fan (of Surya). He plays in a similar manner to how I used to play, but in ODIs, he hasn’t cracked it yet,” de Villiers said on his YouTube channel. “It is a tiny little mind switch that he’s got to make, and he’s got all the ability and capabilities that he needs to do that.”I am very relieved to see SKY in the World Cup squad, I’m very happy about it. I hope he gets this opportunity in this World Cup. Looking at the balance of the Indian squad, he might not start, but a World Cup is a long tournament. So let’s see what happens then.”

‘Home pressure will be India’s big obstacle’

De Villiers also said that the best way for Rohit Sharma’s team to approach the World Cup is to “go fearless” in their bid to replicate their 2011 home ODI World Cup win.”I think India’s squad is incredible, really, really strong,” he said. “The only worry I have for India is playing at home. They played in India, they won. There will be huge pressure. That’s the only big obstacle in my opinion.”But if they can get rid of that and just free themselves up, I see no problem for India. Control what you can control. But go fearless. Fearless is the word I’m looking for the Indian squad. If they can do that, they’ll go a long way and most probably lift that trophy.”Asked about Sanju Samson’s exclusion from the World Cup squad, De Villiers said: “I don’t have to say much about him. We know what he’s capable of.”I’ve been on the receiving end for Royal Challengers Bangalore, watching him score 92 not out at the Chinnaswamy. The ball was flying all over the place. He’s also got the conventional cricket game and technique where he plays with a straight bat, plays the ball nicely. He’s got a good pull and hook shot.”He’s got everything in his bag. It’s all in the mind and it’s a matter of adapting to ODI and game plans and the World Cup and the pressure thereof. So yes, two great players.”

Borussia Dortmund hold on late after Jobe Bellingham masterclass sparks win in seven-goal Club World Cup thriller vs. Mamelodi Sundowns

Dortmund are through to the Club World Cup knockout stages, but it didn't come easily as they barely survived in 4-3 win against heavy underdogs Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Sundowns were the more assertive side early on, and good value for their lead. Their opener came from a moment of individual brilliance. Lucas Ribeiro turned his man, accelerated through the midfield, and slotted past a stranded Gregor Kobel.

But Dortmund found their way back into a game – if only due to a number of Sundowns errors. Felix Nmecha finished into an empty net after a giveaway from the goalie. The second came in a similar fashion, a poor Sundowns pass leading to a well-constructed Dortmund move and easy header for a wide-open Serhou Guirassy at the far post.

The rest of the game was the Jobe Bellingham show. He scored his side's third on the stroke of half time after a nice piece of skill and angled shot. He then set up the decisive fourth on the hour mark. The Sundowns made a late push, grabbing two goals late, but Dortmund saw it out with relative ease to secure a crucial CWC win.

AdvertisementDID YOU KNOW?

Bellingham scored his first goal for Dortmund in his first start for the club. It was also the first goal of the calendar year for the 19-year-old, who secured a $34.6 million (€30 million) move from Sunderland earlier this month.

THE MVP

It took him a while to get going, but this was eventually Bellingham's game in his first start for the club. He was the best player on the pitch for most of the contest, and involved in the last two goals that ultimately killed the game off for Niko Kovac's side. The comparisons to his older brother won't stop, but the early signs suggest he can carve out his own legacy.

THE BIG LOSER

Ronwen Williams did a pretty good job of letting the Sundowns' early lead slip away. The veteran goalkeeper started the Dortmund comeback single-handedly with an errant pass into the feet of a grateful Nmecha. He made things worse soon after with a dangerous ball into the midfield that led to Dortmund's second. A few saves can't be discredited, but he made some decisive mistakes on the day.

Also on Dortmund's end, what is going with Gio Reyna? It makes no sense, at this point, why the attacking midfielder was selected for the CWC squad. Kovac suggested before the tournament that substitutions would be situational, and there may yet be a need for his inclusion. But through two games, there are few signs that the American has a role to play. If only there were another tournament he might have played in this summer…

New Zealand A overcome Jewell defiance to take series 2-0

The opener made 131 but no one else reached 20 for Australia A

New Zealand A made it back-to-back victories in the four-day series despite a defiant century from Australia A opener Caleb Jewell on the final day of the pink-ball game in Mackay.Jewell made a brilliant 131 before he was last-man out, but the next-highest score in the chase was 19 as the home side struggled to combat the New Zealand A pace attack on tricky conditions.Over the course of four A-team first-class matches played between the teams in April and this series, New Zealand A have won three of them with the other drawn.Having been set 302, following Tom Bruce’s unbeaten century, Australia A made a solid start during an overcast first session until Cameron Bancroft was caught at second slip. They had then reached 80 for 1 when, moments before rain stopped play, Tim Ward was caught behind. When play resumed, captain Nathan McSweeney edged to slip against the impressive William O’Rourke. Campbell Kellaway survived a huge appeal for caught behind only to top edge to square leg moments later, but Jewell continued to score freely as he dominated the innings. He went to a 120-ball century, his fifth in first-class cricket, and while he was at the crease Australia A had a good chance of chasing down the runs. However, he could not find anyone to stay with him long enough.Josh Philippe, who made a superb hundred in the first innings, drove to mid-off and Mitchell Perry was brilliantly caught at backward point by Adithya Askok.Nathan McAndrew did not appear convinced by his caught-behind decision and there was too much left for the bowlers to do. An injured Ben Dwarshuis came out at No. 11 but did not have to face a ball with Jewell clubbing to deep square leg.The teams now meet in three one-day games on September 10, 13 and 15.

Prithvi Shaw 244 sets up thumping Northants win over Somerset

India opener records second double-hundred and second-highest List A score in England

ECB Reporters Network09-Aug-2023Prithvi Shaw secured his place in the record books with a magnificent 244 off just 153 balls to set up an 87-run victory over Somerset in the Metro Bank One Day Cup at Wantage Road. Shaw’s innings was Northamptonshire’s highest ever score in List A cricket and the sixth-highest worldwide in List A history. The India international put on a batting masterclass blasting 11 sixes and 28 fours. Along the way he eclipsed his undefeated 227 for Mumbai against Puducherry at Jaipur in 2021. He also moved past Ben Duckett’s 220 not out for England Lions against Sri Lanka A in 2016 to post the second-highest ever List A innings made in England. Only Alistair Brown with 268 for Surrey against Glamorgan at the Oval in 2002 has scored more. After almost chopping on before scoring, Shaw did not offer another chance until he passed 200. He made batting look effortless, scoring all around the wicket, threading the ball through the gaps with surgical precision. Somerset did not help matters either with some uncharacteristically subpar ground fielding and catching.

Shaw took on the spinners, using his feet to hit down the ground or sweeping high over long-off, one ball flying out of the ground. He also played fluently against the seamers, controlling the hook shot well, driving and cutting and twice depositing Somerset’s most experienced bowler Jack Brooks over long-off for six.He reached his first 100 off 81 balls before powering to 200 off just 48 more. In the process, he overtook David Sales’ 161 in 2006, the previous best for the Steelbacks in 50-over cricket, before moving past David Willey’s 167 in 2013 and Wayne Larkins’ 172 in 1983, both scored in 40-over affairs.Somerset opener Andy Umeed offered the visitors some hope with his highest List A score of 77 off 67 balls, smashing the ball with some ferocity, and sharing a century stand with Lewis Goldsworthy. Rob Keogh’s spin however prompted a mini collapse as Somerset lost three wickets for eight runs in 12 balls. Sean Dickson and Curtis Campher put on 77 in seven overs but were left with too much to do, with Northamptonshire’s sharp fielding in marked contrast to their opponents. Keogh finished with figures of 4 for 49, his best in List A cricket.Emilio Gay had given Northamptonshire’s innings a strong foundation in the powerplay with an opening partnership worth 63, hitting six boundaries before he played Shoaib Bashir straight to mid-on.Shaw found another partner in Ricardo Vasconelos with the pair sharing a stand of 112 in 16.3 overs. They targeted Curtis Campher, taking 18 off one over, Vasconcelos taking Northamptonshire past 150 by hooking him for six.Vasconcelos was gifted three lives, first on 22 when short midwicket couldn’t hold onto a tough chance, then when more straightforward chances were put down on 32 and 38. George Thomas had the final word though, taking a sharp catch off his own bowling.Shaw duly brought up his century off 81 balls, slowing slightly as Goldsworthy extracted some turn. He soon found his feet against Brooks, as the former Steelbacks bowler conceded 19 off one over.Sam Whiteman hit a six and five fours in a run-a-ball 50, but otherwise played second fiddle to Shaw as they put on 194 in 18.3 overs. They brought up Northamptonshire’s 200 in the 32nd over and motored to 300 in the 39th before Whiteman was bowled by Danny Lamb.Tom Taylor was run out after being dropped first ball – the first of four wickets to fall for two runs as Northamptonshire lost three batters to catches while attempting to force the pace, giving Brooks three consolation scalps.Shaw started the final over with six down the ground, but his long stay finally ended when he holed out off Lamb and left to a standing ovation. In the reply, Thomas fell attempting to pull a short ball from Taylor, but Umeed was in good touch, pulling Jack White for six and hitting Simon Kerrigan for two huge sixes, one into the top of the Spencer Pavilion and one which flew over the top. His downfall came when he was trapped in front by Keogh, attempting to sweep.Goldsworthy had played the junior partner, striking just four boundaries, and chipped Keogh to long-off where Vasconcelos took a stunning catch. The spinner then collected his third scalp when he trapped the in-form James Rew lbw attempting a reverse sweep.George Bartlett fell to Luke Procter for 13, but Dickson and Campher went on the offensive, trying to keep up with an ever-rising run rate. Dickson hit Kerrigan down the ground for six while Campher meted out similar treatment to Taylor before he fell to a fine boundary catch from James Sales off Taylor.Lamb reverse-swept Keogh for six but gave Taylor his third wicket when he was caught at wide mid-off. Dickson’s captain’s knock ended when he was caught in the deep and with him went Somerset’s last hope. The tail wagged vigorously but ultimately in vain.”The sun was out, it was kind of like Indian weather today so it was really looking good,” Shaw said. “You know when an inside edge doesn’t get me out, that means this day is for me. You have to be lucky sometimes, so I think this was a day for me. I didn’t look back after that.”The 227 was in my head to be honest. I spoke to Whitey [Whiteman] when he was there and I told him it’s 227, my highest score. But it was a good team effort all around. I always try and win matches for the team and I’m the kind of a player who puts my team first and then myself. If scoring like this can help my team to win, then I should continue this.”On his motivation for playing county cricket, Shaw added: “Definitely experience for sure. Not really thinking what the Indian selectors may be thinking, but I just want to have a good time here, have a good time with the players over here and the support staff. Northamptonshire have given me this opportunity… they’re really looking after me. I’m really enjoying it.”

Shubman Gill is “99% available” for the India vs Pakistan World Cup fixture in Ahmedabad on Saturday, Rohit Sharma said in a press interaction on the eve of the game. Gill arrived in Ahmedabad before the rest of the team, and batted in the nets on Thursday itself in a bid to be ready for the game.If Gill does make the India XI, it will help India get back to their first-choice XI, something they have not been able to do at the World Cup, with Gill going down with a bout of dengue and being forced to miss the games against Australia and Afghanistan, both of which India won.Gill did not travel with the team to Delhi for their second fixture against Afghanistan on Wednesday. He was taken to a hospital in Chennai – where India played their first game, against Australia – for treatment but was subsequently discharged after his health improved. In his absence, Ishan Kishan opened the innings against Australia alongside Rohit. Though India were reduced to 2 for 3 in a chase of 200 – Kishan, Rohit and Shreyas Iyer were dismissed for ducks – they recovered to chase down the target with six wickets in hand and 52 balls to spare. India had the same opening pair against Afghanistan too, and there was a marked improvement in their performance: Rohit scored 131 in 84 balls and Kishan a run-a-ball 47. India won by eight wickets.Gill is the leading run-getter worldwide in ODIs this year with 1230 runs at an average of 72.35 and a strike rate of 105.03. In his last four ODIs, he has hit two centuries and a half-century.
